                                                   Surgical Procedures

Here at Atwood Animal Hospital we strive to provide our clients with the best care possible to help their pets live long, healthy lives. In doing so, we provide outstanding surgical services such as elective spays and neuters, to more extensive procedures such as exploratories and cystotomies.   We have a Board Certified Surgeon that comes in to our hospital for orthopetic surgeries,. We want our clients to feel comfortable any time their animal requires surgery. Any questions you may have, please ask one of our technicians and they'll be glad to inform you about the procedure your loved one is going to have performed.

This patient is waking up from anesthesia on a heating pad with a towel over her for warmth.  The technician stays with the patient while in recovery.  The endotracheal tube is uncuffed and removed when the patient has eye reflexes and can swallow on his/her own.  They are kept warm in the security of their cages, and monitored closely.  This particular patient has a cone collar on to prevent her from scratching, because she has just had a lump removed on her head.
